274K Western Visayans get first vaccine doses

ILOILO City – A total of 274,291 individuals in vaccination priority group A in Western Visayas already received their first dose of anti-coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccines.

They are 16.48 percent of the 1.6 million master-listed for the group as of June 13, data from the Department of Health (DOH) showed.

Of these individuals, 144,954 were inoculated with Sinovac and 129,337 with AstraZeneca.

Data further shows that 95,744 under A1 (frontline healthcare workers); 94,642 under A2 (senior citizens); and 79,107 under A3 (persons with comorbidities) got their first dose.

Dr. Bea Natalaray, medical officer IV of DOH Region 6, said 5,102 individuals also got their first dose but these up for validation if they belonged to either of the three sub-priority groups under Group A.

Western Visayas received a total of 305,420 doses allotted for first dose, of which 89.81 percent have been utilized already.

On the other hand, a total of 91,366 individuals were able to complete their vaccination (two doses) – 84,308 got Sinovac and 7,058 received AstraZeneca.

Three hundred four other individuals who got their second dose are still up for validation.

The region was able to receive a total of 188, 220 doses for the second dose of which 48.54 percent have been utilized./PN
