BACOLOD City — The shipping company 2GO yesterday launched its new vessel, MV Saint Francis Xavier.
“The route of MV Saint Francis Xavier is Manila to Bacolod to Iloilo and back to Manila, then to Zamboanga to Dumaguete and Cebu, and back to Manila,” 2GO’s Bacolod–Iloilo manager Dennis Garganera said.
The vessel, which has five levels, can accommodate 1,900 passengers and 160 containers of cargo, and is equipped with the latest technology to ensure safe travel, Garganera said. It can also carry vehicles on the second level, he said.
He said the ship, which the company acquired last year, had already been plying the Bacolod–Manila route for a month, but it was only yesterday that the company formally introduced it to Negrense passengers.
2GO has three vessels, including this new one, plying the Manila–Bacolod route. The other two were St. Michael and Joan of Arc.
Garganera said among the amenities of the new ship were a spacious bar, where a live band plays during travel, and a cafeteria, which has a videoke./PN
