ILOILO City – Three women, all “high-value” targets of the police, fell in the hands of the Iloilo City Police Anti-Illegal Drug Task Force in a buy-bust operation in Brgy. Bakhaw, Mandurriao district.

Arrested were Rhea Ormido, 24, of said place; Elma Mirasol, 42, of Brgy. Hibao-an Norte, Mandurriao; and Andrelyn Tabugon, 30, of Infante, Molo.

They were arrested around 1:30 a.m. in a joint operation of the police and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.

Ormido had been under surveillance for quite some time after her name was included in the Iloilo City Police Office’s list of suspected big-time drug pushers.

Her two other companions reportedly get their items from Ormido who is their friend.

Recovered from their possession were 12 sachets of shabu, weighing scale and cash amounting to P1,300.

Brgy. Bakhaw, under the leadership of village chief Remia Gregory, is among the drug havens in Iloilo City. It is where most of the local drug dealers get their illegal drugs.

The other favorite source is Brgy. Desamparados in Jaro district.

Up to now, Gregory has not submitted her list of drug pushers to the Department of Interior and Local Government and PDEA./PN
