TANGALAN, Aklan – Three persons were arrested for illegal gambling on March 27 in Barangay Poblacion here.
The following were taken to the Tangalan police station for playing the card game “tong-its” in public:
- Rhyan Pelaez, 29
- Wilfredo Pelaez, 64
- Marlon John Montaña
All residents of Barangay Poblacion, the suspects were caught around 4:30 p.m. playing in front of the house of one Wilfredo Pelaez.
Cops recovered the playing cards and P60.
The three men face a charge for violation of Presidential Decree 1602 that prohibits illegal gambling./PN
