BACOLOD City – Three members of the Citizen Armed Forces Geographical Unit (Cafgu) face dismissal from the service.

They failed their drug tests and the subsequent confirmatory tests.

The three Cafgu members were connected with the Philippine Army’s 12th Infantry Battalion Delta Company based in Moises Padilla, Negros Occidental.

They – Reymark Librado, Rogelio Ruales and Apolinario Talahan – were part of the 29 Cafgus tested on Wednesday.

Senior Inspector Allan Reloj, Moises Padilla police chief, conducted the test on the order of Mayor Magdaleno Peña.

The Cafgu is an irregular auxiliary force of the Armed Forces of the Philippines. It was created on July 25, 1987. President Corazon Aquino signed Executive Order No. 264 providing for a “Citizen Armed Force.”

The creation of the unit was based on the “clear, consolidate, hold and develop” strategy adopted by then Defense Secretary Fidel Ramos in dealing with insurgent-infiltrated villages./PN
