BACOLOD City – Three candidates for director of the Central Negros Electric Cooperative (Ceneco) are running unopposed.

Joyce Martha Cuenca and Robert Javellana are incumbent members of the Board of Directors representing Districts 1 and 6 (Bago City), respectively. Joselito Gaston, an engineer, represents District 9 (Silay City).

Elections for the three districts will be held on Saturday, Nov. 26 at the Ceneco main building.

Consumer Services Division chief Roel Venus said they expect the elections to finish earlier than usual, especially since there is no required minimum number of votes.

Elections would be held at a school in a district if the candidates had contenders, he said.

Two other aspiring candidates were disqualified.

Romel Jamelo (District 1) was found to be non-eligible for the directorship, being a member for only four years and 10 months now. The requirement is at least five years.

On the other hand, Elsa Garcela (District 6) failed to meet the required number of attendance to the Annual General Membership Assembly. The minimum requirement is at least twice in the past five years./PN
