ROXAS City — A three-storey building here, whose completion was stalled due to lack of funds, was being revived by Mayor Angel Alan Celino.
The building on corner Legaspi and Taft streets, adjacent to City Square Trade, will have units/stalls available for rent.
Danilo Tumlos, project manager, said the first floor might be completed by last week of August, while work on the rest of the building might start next year.
Working on the building on “full blast” would be too costly, Tumlos said.
He said the construction project was being implemented “phase by phase.”
Currently, he said, the workers are busy on the plumbing, tiles and flooring, finishing of walls, painting, restroom and septic tank of the first floor.
The construction started sometime in 2007, during the time of then Mayor Antonio del Rosario.
It was being funded by the office of then 1st District Rep. Rodriguez Dadivas.
However, the construction was stopped due to lack of budget.
Celino, who won as mayor in 2010, decided to revive the project last year./PN
