ILOILO City – A drunken man barged into a house in Barangay Panalian, Maasin, Iloilo and hacked two persons with a bolo.

But the attacker himself was hacked, too. One of the victims managed to wrest the bolo from him and hurt him, too.

The suspect, 49-year-old Jessie Catete, was confined at the Western Visayas Medical Center in Iloilo City together with his victim Vilma Malones, 46.

Catete’s other victim, the 56-year-old Santiago Magarse, was taken to the Ramon Tabiana Memorial District Hospital in nearby Cabatuan town.

The hacking happened around 11 p.m. on Dec. 30, 2016 inside Magarse’s house.

Catete sustained wounds on his right hand and back while Santiago had a hack wound on his hands just like Malones.

As of this writing, the police were readying a frustrated murder complaint against Catete./PN
