BACOLOD City – A three-year-old girl drowned in a river in Sitio Tikoy-tikoy, Barangay Cabacungan, La Castellana, Negros Occidental.
The girl’s body was found by residents around 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 15 in Sitio Obay, of the same barangay.
Investigation revealed that the victim’s mother left her to the child’s grandmother, whose house was beside the river.
The girl tried to go back home, but due to heavy rain, she was swept away by the strong water current, police said./PN
