30T jobs up for grabs in DOLE Labor Day job fair

ILOILO City – Jobs available for today’s Labor Day job fair of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Region 6 were nearing 30,000 as of this writing.

The job fair would be held at Robinsons Place Jaro.

According to DOLE regional director Cyril Ticao, over 5,000 vacancies are local and the rest (22,000) are overseas jobs.

The top vacancies available for local employment are: technical support / customer service representatives (business process outsourcing), service crew (hotel and accommodation) and registered nurses.

Other participating companies are looking for graduates of accounting and business courses (accountants, auditors, accounting staff, bookkeepers and cashiers), said Ticao.

Others offer engineering-related positions such as civil engineers.

For high school students, undergraduates and those with at least two years spent in college, job vacancies available are for drivers, heavy truck operators, customer care representatives, and salesmen, among others.

Meanwhile, overseas jobs available are spread in several countries, said Ticao, such as Saudi Arabia (6,196), New Zealand (5,327), Qatar (1,842), Hong Kong (1,728), Kuwait (1,286), Japan (760), Singapore (750), Germany (632), Malaysia (589), and Bahrain (536).

The job vacancies are for registered nurses, carpenters, farmers, masons, drivers, engineers, teachers, welders, and waiters.

Ticao said jobseekers must bring with them to the job fair the necessary documents such as transcript of record, resumé and certificate of employment, among others.

Look presentable, too, Ticao added.

“They must know how to sell themselves. Dapat makabalo sila kon paano mapapati ang naga-interbyu nga kuhaon gid sila,” said Ticao./PN
