ILOILO City – A total of 320 new recruits of the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) are training on internal security operations to combat insurgency.

Police Brigadier General Rene Pamuspusan, regional police director, said the Basic Internal Security Operations Course (BISOC) started on Nov. 24 at the PRO-6’s mobile group training center in Sara, Iloilo.

BISOC is a mandatory training for all police personnel.

This 60-day training course provides the cops with the right knowledge, attitude, skills, and values that will make them more capable and qualified to be assigned in the mobile forces of the Philippine National Police whose primary function is to confront problems on internal security.

“I am directing everyone to submit your whole being to this training. Remember, there are no second chances in real-life combat, no rewinds. Take the opportunity given to you to learn and sharpen your skills to be adaptable to any situation,” Pamuspusan stressed.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Samuel Roy Subsuban of the Regional Special Training Unit 6 serves as course director.

After the training, the cops will be assigned to various mobile force companies in Region 6 to perform anti-insurgency operations.

Pamuspusan said PRO-6 is strictly implementing health and safety protocols in training to avert the spread of coronavirus disease./PN
