PANDAN, Antique – A total of 3,204 senior citizens in this town have received their 2022 third quarter social pension amounting to P1,500 each.
Led by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in Western Visayas and Pandan Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office, last week’s distribution of social pension for indigent senior citizens from the town’s 34 barangays was conducted at the Barangay Sta. Ana Covered Court and Liberman Sports Complex in Barangay Centro Norte.
Mayor Tomas U. Estoperez Jr. and Vice Mayor Jeremy D. Tan were also present during the distribution.
According to DSWD, the beneficiaries would receive a total of P6,000 in a year distributed quarterly, amounting to P1,500 per quarter.
Social pension refers to additional government assistance to augment indigent senior citizens’ daily subsistence and other medical needs, as well as to reduce hunger./PN
