BACOLOD City – A total of 325 police officers in Negros Island Region have been promoted.

They included 21 police commissioned officers (PCOs), 257 police noncommissioned officers and 47 support unit personnel.

Among the newly promoted PCOs was Moises Villaceran, chief of the Police Regional Office 18 (PRO-18) Police-Community Relations Division. From superintendent, he was elevated to senior superintendent.

Deputy Director for Administration Leonardo Cesneros — himself promoted to chief superintendent from senior superintendent — led the mass oath-taking and donning of ranks on Monday at Camp Alfredo Montelibano Sr.

Cesneros was one of the six new PNP generals promoted during the oath-taking and donning of ranks led by Director General Ronald Dela Rosa on Jan. 24.

A member of the PNP Academy Class ’86, Cesneros was one of pioneers at the PRO-18, which was established in November 2015 after the creation of Negros Island Region.

Also promoted to chief superintendent from senior superintendent were Jonas Calleja, executive officer of the Directorate for Logistics; Jonathan Ablang, deputy director for administration of the PRO-9; Reynaldo Biay, deputy director for administration of the PRO-1; Roberto Badian, deputy director for administration of the PRO-8; and Arnel Escobal, deputy director for administration of the PRO-6.
