ILOILO City – A total of 3,333 promoted police personnel of the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) attended a simultaneous oath taking and donning of ranks at Camp Martin Delgado here on Tuesday.

Of these cops, 225 were Police Commissioned Officers (PCOs) while 3,108 were Police Non-Commissioned Officers (PNCOs).

“The promotion is not only a reward for what they have done but is also a recognition of their potential to do more, especially in these trying times,” said Brigadier General Leo Francisco, PRO-6 director.

He added: “Marami sa kanila, lalo na ang mga PCOs, ang naghintay ng maraming taon para lamang ma-promote. May ibang PNCOs naman na naunahan pa ng mga magaling na juniors na ma-promote.”

Francisco reminded them to “always keep in mind your commitment to continuing what we have started. Your hard work and sacrifices paid off. You have been instrumental in the delivery of accomplishments of the PRO-6.”

The police director further reminded them to value their uniform, focus on their mandate, and always be an example to others.

“I would like to address this to the PCOs, to inspire your subordinates so they may stay away from doing disreputable activities. Be wary of your conduct now that you have achieved a higher rank. Exert effort to cleanse the rank. Do your share in weeding out personnel tainted with controversy and malice,” he added.

“As newly promoted officers of PRO-6, I want you to become beacons of strength and morality not only to the rest of our personnel but most of all to the community,” Francisco said./PN
