BACOLOD City – Two men were arrested separately for illegal possession of firearms in Himamaylan City.

The 39-year-old Robert Mortes of Barangay 1, Kabankalan City and Glenn Postero, 36, of Barangay Mahalang, Himamaylan City were caught by the police on Saturday and Sunday, respectively, a police report showed.

Mortes was caught on board a motorcycle driven by Anthony Alvarez, 21, around 10 p.m. in Barangay 2.

Recovered from Mortes were a .38-caliber gun and a sling bag containing three bullets. Police also confiscated two bladed weapons from Alvarez.

Postero, on the other hand, was nabbed by village officials in Barangay Proper who turned him over to the police.

Confiscated from Postero was a .45-caliber firearm loaded with four live bullets.
