3ID has 227 new soldiers

ILOILO City – The 3rd Infantry (Spearhead) Division (3ID) of the Philippine Army has 227 new soldiers who graduated yesterday after six months of training at the Camp Peralta, Jamindan, Capiz.

The new soldiers were products of the Candidate Soldier Course (CSC) class “SANIB-TIKAS” 725-2022. They were composed of 205 males and 21 females.

They will be deployed to different battalions in Western Visayas after undergoing another set of combat trainings.

Of the newly enlisted privates, 180 will be assigned at the infantry while 47 will join the Army engineer.

Three graduates had excelled during the training. Private Kimberly Ambuan, a graduate of Bachelor of Science (BS) in Business Administration from Panay, Capiz, bagged the 3ID Commander Award with a general average of 93.82 percent.

The Chief of Staff Award was given to Top 2 graduate, Private Melanie Quia-ot, a BS in Elementary Education graduate from Pinamungahan, Cebu. She had a general average of 93.51 percent.

Private Mil Rey Alanza, a graduate of BS in Criminology from Patnongon, Antique, received the Commandant Award for being the Top 3 graduate with a general average of 93.48 percent.

Alanza also got the Commander’s Physical Proficiency Award for getting the highest rating in the physical fitness test.

The new soldiers received short firearms.

Major General Benedict Arevalo, 3ID commander, congratulated the new privates for enduring the rigorous training while recognizing the officers and enlisted personnel of the Division Training School for making the course a successful one.

Arevalo reminded the new soldiers to be watchful, remember their instructors’ and training models’ teachings, and continue learning and praying for their safety.

“Bring with you our mantra, ‘loved by the people, feared by the enemy’, as your guide in performing your duty. Help the people all the time and always be ready to face the enemy to ensure victory,” he added./PN
