4 hurt as delivery truck turns turtle

ANTIQUE – A delivery truck turned turtle along the national highway in Punta Hagdan, Barangay Igdalaguit, Tobias Fornier town.

Truck helpers Lou Jonaseph Berrey, Princely Sumido and another unnamed one sustained body injuries, according to Police Staff Sergeant John Ariz Bacawag, investigator of Tobias Fornier Municipal Police Station.

Driver Larry Gimenez, a resident of Barangay Baldoza, La Paz, Iloilo City, complained of pain on his side.

Bacawag said the delivery truck was from Iloilo City and on its way to deliver a load of span roofing in Antique.

Upon reaching a steep portion of the highway, police said the truck’s brakes malfunctioned, resulting to the accident around 11:40 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 21.

The victims were brought to the town’s President Diosdado Macapagal District Hospital.

Bacawag added personnel of the Tobias Fornier Fire Station and a backhoe were deployed to remove the delivery truck that had blocked the road./PN
