BACOLOD City – Four employees of the La Carlota City Government in Negros Occidental underwent confirmatory drug tests after they reportedly tested positive from last week’s surprise drug tests.
One of them, a regular employee, flunked the confirmatory test, according to Mayor Rex Jalando-on in a radio interview.
The mayor added the said employee cannot be removed immediately but must undergo a program to determine the employee’s drug dependency level and rehabilitation.
A total of 674 city government employees underwent drug tests conducted by the City Health Office and the La Carlota City Police Station last week.
The drug test was in compliance with City Ordinance No. 2022-011, which promotes a drug-free workplace. (Watchmen Daily Journal)/PN
