ILOILO City – Four individuals were apprehended for 210 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated value of P1,428,000 in Zone 5, Barangay Boulevard, Molo.
The City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU), together with City Police Stations 1 and 4 and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in Western Visayas, carried out the operation at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 13.
High-value suspects Jenny Gonzales (the main target), along with Franklin Senerado, Reynaldo Porras Jr., and Vilma Malagad, sold a sachet of the illegal substance to a police poseur buyer in exchange for P8,000.
A .45 pistol was also recovered from Gonzales with six live rounds of ammunition and one magazine.
According to CDEU chief Lieutenant Colonel Antonio Benitez Jr., Porras and Malagad have been arrested prior due to illegal drugs, while police are yet to verify the background of Gonzales and Senerado.
All the arrested suspects, who will be facing charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are presently detained at the custodial facility of City Police Station 4 for proper disposition.
Police Brigadier General Sidney N. Villaflor, director of the Police Regional Office 6, commended the successful operation and reminded the public to be more vigilant, especially during this holiday.
