BACOLOD City – Police arrested a couple, a barangay tanod and two others in separate illegal drug buy-bust operations in Pontevedra, Negros Occidental and Barangay 27 in this city.
More than P200,000 worth of suspected shabu were seized from the suspects.
Patrick Carnecer, 32, and Jocy Mae Navarra, 29, were caught in Sitio Embarkadero, Barangay San Juan, Pontevedra at around 4 p.m. Friday.
Senior Inspector Rhojn Darrel Nigos, municipal police head, identified them as a couple.
According to Nigos, Carnecer was on the watch list of drug suspects of the Escalante City police station.
Eleven plastic packs of suspected shabu, the P500 buy-bust money and drug paraphernalia were confiscated from the suspects.
Weighing more or less 4.5 grams, the substance had an estimated market value of P66,000, police said.
The suspects were detained at the Pontevedra police station.
A day earlier, police arrested tanod Val de Asis, Emily de Asis and Jona Alisna in Barangay 27 in this city.
Around 15 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated value of P180,000 were seized from the suspects, police said.
The three also yielded the P1,000 marked money and a coin purse.
The City Drug Enforcement Unit of the Bacolod City Police Office staged the operation in Barangay 27. Police took the suspects in custody.
