4 public schools in Aklan ready for face-to-face classes

KALIBO, Aklan – Four more public schools in the province of Aklan have been identified for the progressive expansion phase of limited face-to-face classes.

The schools in Buruanga, Ibajay, Nabas, and Tangalan have been assessed by the Department of Education and are ready for face-to-face classes.

They have passed the standards of School Safety Assessment Tool validated by the Schools Division Office (SDO) composite team, with parent consent of participating learners, their action and contingency plans presented to SDO composite team and with LGU concurrence and coordinated with barangay officials.

The identified schools in Aklan are Dapdap Elementary School in Tangalan (Kindergarten to Grade 6), Buruanga Elementary School in Buruanga (Kindergarten to Grade 6), Laserna Integrated School in Nabas (additional grade level Grade 6 to 8  and Maloco National High School in Ibajay (Grade 7 to 10 and Grade 11 and 12).

Laserna Integrated School, one of the pilot schools for the limited face-to-face classes (Kindergarten, Grade 1 to 3), may also resume under Alert 1 and 2 classifications.

The four public schools in Aklan for the progressive expansion phase will hold in-person instruction as soon as the areas belong to Alert Level 1 and 2.

Aside from Aklan, DepEd also announced nine schools in Antique, four schools in Cadiz City, three schools in Escalante City, one school each in Victorias City, Capiz and Guimaras provinces, five schools in Iloilo province, 11 schools in Sagay City, eight schools in San Carlos City, 15 schools in Silay City, 16 schools in Negros Occidental and two schools in Himamaylan City for the expansion phase of face-to-face classes.

Aklan is currently under Alert Level 3 which prohibits face-to-face classes./PN
