ILOILO City – Armed men shot a car in Barangay Pakiad, Oton, Iloilo before dawn yesterday then fled.
None from the four persons – a man and three women – in the car, a Toyota Vios, was hurt but they were shaken by the attack.
The police chief of Oton, said Chief Inspector Gervinson Moyo, identified the four persons as Christian Dior Biboso; Fria Denaca, 22, of Barangay Sicogon, Carles, Iloilo; Jenevive Orna, 22, of Mambusao, Capiz; and Wingie Barabona, 25, of Barangay Tabugon, Dingle, Iloilo.
Biboso was driving the car. The three women were sales ladies of a boutique at a mall in Mandurriao district.
The shooting happened at around 2:50 a.m. The car was on its way back to the city from Barangay Sooc, Arevalo district.
According to the three sales ladies, a car overtook theirs and shouted at Biboso who was driving the Toyota Vios to stop.
Moyo said the suspects apparently knew Biboso because they called him out by name.
As of this writing, the Oton police were still trying to gather more information from Biboso.
Policemen recovered from the crime scene seven empty casings of caliber .45 pistol bullets.
The Toyota Vios incurred bullet holes on its left side.
Prior to the shooting, Biboso and company were at Smallville, a popular strip of bars and restaurants in Barangay San Rafael, Mandurriao, said Moyo, then transported a female friend to Barangay Sooc, Arevalo before heading back to the city./PN
