ROXAS City – The city government is rehabilitating its public market, the Teodoro Arcenas Trade Center (TATC).

The market is already 40 years old and needs expansion.

“Ipakay-o ta ini sang insakto bangud kwarta sang tawo ang ginagamit naton. Indi pwede nga tapal-tapal lang sa atop,” according to Mayor Ronnie Dadivas.

Recently, the City Engineer’s Office (CEO) presented a design for proposed rehabilitation of the TATC Main Building.

The city government particularly wanted to transform to it into a two-storey mall-market that is clean and environment-friendly.

Dadivas said the project will be done in phases and will start with the rehabilitation of the Fish Section.

The CEO hopes to start the rehabilitation by May.

Funds for the project will be taken from the city’s reserved funds and economic enterprise income.

It will further get additional allocation from the city’s 20 percent Development Fund./PN
