44 PDLs undergo random drug test

AKLAN – Forty-four Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) were subjected to random drug tests at the the Aklan District Jail in Barangay Nalook, Kalibo on Monday, March 13.

The random drug test was conducted in parallel with the shakedown, or “greyhound”, operation of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) VI-Aklan Provincial Office team, Kalibo Municipal Police Station and Aklan District Jail (ADJ).

Of the 44 PDLs, 41 were male and three were female.

No contraband or illegal drugs were found, and all tested negative for drug use.

Jail Inspector Rolyn T. Malolos, District Jail Warden-Male Dorm and Jail Inspector Ma. Edelia P. Fantilaga, District Jail Warden-Female Dorm of the ADJ, supervised the operations.

The operations aimed to ensure the safety and security of the PDLs./PN
