ANTIQUE – To protect and promote the educational rights of persons with disability (PWDs), school supplies were provided to 48 PWD learners or children with special needs from the different barangays of Pandan town here.

The local government unit (LGU), through its Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), distributed the school supplies to the learners enrolled in elementary and senior high schools at the Municipal People’s Park last week.

The learners have intellectual disabilities and communication disorders, among others.

Mayor Tomas Estoperez Jr. looked for ways to allocate a budget for the endeavor to make PWD learners feel that they are loved and taken care of.

It is also one way of the mayor to protect and promote every child with disabilities’ right to education, who also deserves equal treatment.

Among the school supplies provided were plastic envelope with bondpaper, intermediate pad, notebook, and pencils.
