4T expected to show up at PESO job fair today

ILOILO – Between 3,000 to 4,000 job hunters are expected to show up at the provincial capitol lobby and Casa Real today for the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Iloilo’s job fair.

A total of 41,473 job vacancies (8,263 local and 33,210 overseas) would be made available, according to PESO-Iloilo chief Francisco Heler Jr.

Applicants should bring the following documentary requirements: resumé, transcript of record, certificate of employment (if any), clearances (barangay, police, National Bureau of Investigation).

For local employment, participating companies come from the following industries: business process outsourcing, real estate, banking/microfinance, hotels and restaurants, retail, and medical field.

Heler said they are looking for customer service representatives, English language tutors, technical support representatives, virtual assistants, property specialists, corporate account specialists, project sales managers, client service associates, accounting assistants, loan assistants, guest service associates, sales marketing staff, bellmen, banquet managers, store managers, stock clerks, baggers, cashiers, receiving clerks, nurses, medical technologists, and pharmacy assistants.

For overseas employment, participating companies come from the fields of construction, hospitality and healthcare.

Heler said they are looking for civil engineers, building technicians, architects, painters, carpenters, food servers, receptionists, cooks, nurses, midwives, and medical technicians.

Four ship manning agencies are also participating. They are looking for cooks, oilers, wipers, masters, chief officers, and second and third officers.

As of yesterday, some 1,700 job hunters pre-registered at the extension office of PESO, third floor of the provincial capitol./PN
