SAN JOSE, Antique ā€“ The construction of fire stations in five municipalities in Antique will start within the first quarter of the year, according to Provincial Fire Marshal Randy Pudadera.

The towns Tibiao, Barbaza, Caluya, Anini-y, and Hamtic have been appealing for the construction of fire stations in their respective areas.

ā€œThese local government units (LGUs) now have their lot donation where the fire stations will be constructed,ā€ Pudadera said.

Looking for the lot where the fire station will be built caused the delay of the construction, added Pudadera.

He also said the construction of a typical fire station will cost P7 million, which will be sourced from the Bureau of Fire Protection central office.

LGUs will provide the lot for the fire station.

Antique has 18 fire trucks for its 18 towns. (With PNA/PN)
