ILOILO City – The Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) created five tracker teams that will run after robbers and wanted persons.
They will “monitor the movement of robbery groups” and catch them, said Senior Superintendent Roderick Augustus Alba, IPPO director.
Alba said they expect those engaged in the drug trade to shift to robbery due to the government crackdown on drugs.
The tracker teams are also tasked to scour the province for persons wanted for drug or other crimes.
“[There must be] no letup [in the operations against] robbers and wanted persons,” Alba said. “We have to neutralize them.”
Each tracker team will be in charge of one congressional district.
They will operate in coordination with officers in municipal police stations.
Operatives from the Provincial Public Safety Company and some soldiers will augment their force by roving and setting up checkpoints./PN
