ILOILO City – Five drug suspects were arrested for P374,000 worth of suspected shabu in Zone 5, Barangay Boulevard, Molo.
Mary Jane Diones Trongcoso, alias “Jingle,” 37, of Zone 5, Barangay Boulevard, Molo, was a high-value suspect.
Also arrested were Lourdes Banares Nietes, 47, of Barangay Boulevard; Panfilo Madera Varquez, 57, a native of Oroquita, Misamis Occidental, but temporarily resides in Barangay Boulevard and has a previous arrest for rebellion in Bohol; Romar Diones Trongcoso, 33, of Barangay Bangga Bante, Zaraga, Iloilo; and Kenneth Dapitan Castro, 39, of Barangay San Pablo, Manapla, Negros Occidental.
The City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) of the Iloilo City Police Office recovered more or less 55 grams of suspected shabu from the suspects around 10:50 p.m. on Monday, July 10.
Police Captain Roque Gimeno III, CDEU Team Leader, said a police poseur buyer bought a plastic sachet of suspected shabu for P12,000 from the suspects.
“Sa pag-monitor naton sini kay Jingle kag kay Lourdes mga three weeks kag based sa aton confidential agent naglakat pa ni sa Bacolod [City] and then didto siya nagkuha sang iya items. Si Jingle gakwa man siya kay Lourdes kag ang iya nga bana nga wala diri subong allegedly naga haboy man didto sa Passi [City],” Gimeno added.
The suspects are currently held at the Molo Police Station and will face charges of violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
