ILOILO City – Five suspects were arrested in an antidrug operation in an abandoned house in Barangay Desamparados, Jaro district at around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 27.

Romer Vinaventura Castor, alias “Pakloy”, 47, of Barangay Tabuc Suba, Jaro was the main subject of the operation. He was tagged as a high-value individual.

Alias “Pakloy” is allegedly sourcing illegal drugs from alias “Madam,” who is also from the city.

Also arrested were Gabrillo y Berol, alias “Toto”, 25, of Barangay San Roque, Jaro; Felix S. Sabandal, 37, of Barangay Arbesanches, San Miguel, Iloilo; Mark David P. Mahusay, 25, of Barangay Tabang, Bayawan, Negros Occidental; and Jun B. Ong, 35, of Barangay Tanza Bonifacio, Iloilo City Proper.

Eight sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated weight of 115 grams and a standard drug price of P782,000 were recovered.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Antonio Benitez Jr. of the City Drug Enforcement Unit said they have been receiving reports of illegal drug activities in the area since March.

The caretaker alias “Pakloy” only allowed buyers he knew to enter the place; otherwise, the items would only be “spilled” at the gate, said Iloilo City Police Office director Police Colonel Joeresty Coronica./PN
