5 village watchmen hurt in San Remigio shooting spree

SAN JOSE, Antique – Five village watchmen were wounded in a shooting incident in Barangay Bugo, San Remigio town.
Residents Jimmer Aquino, 45; Lucer Jawod, 48; Valencio Baria, 50; Jose Fugencio, 67; and Amelino Alejo, 64 sustained gunshot wounds on the body, a police report showed.

The 45-year-old resident Elmer Fordan was tagged suspect.
According to police investigators, Fordan allegedly shot the village watchmen around 10:30 p.m. on June 2 after he was prohibited by them to buy liquor at a store.
The victims were rushed to the Angel Salazar Memorial General Hospital in this capital town for medical treatment.

Officers of the San Remigio, meanwhile, conducted a manhunt operation against the suspect, who fled after the incident./PN
