53% of the target population in Antique is fully vaccinated

ANTIQUE – The province of Antique reaches 53% of the target population or a total of 229,410 out of 435,979 individuals that should be vaccinated. This 53 % of the target population are fully vaccinated against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) as of January 10, 2022.

Here is the accomplishment report of the 18 towns in terms of fully vaccinated individuals: Anini-y (10,811), Barbaza (6,161), Belison (5,261), Bugasong (11,457), Caluya (9,978), Culasi (16,581), Hamtic (15,037), Laua-an (8,591), Libertad (7,070), Pandan (16,645), Patnongon (9,186), San Jose (42,446), San Remigio (7,045), Sebaste (9,592), Sibalom (20,747), Tibiao (9,592), Tobias Fornier (16,044), and Valderrama (7,166).

In terms of individuals who receive their first dose, it reaches 42,877, and based on Antique Provincial Health Office (APHO) there are a remaining 163,692 Antiqueños that are unvaccinated.

According to Provincial Health Officer 1, Dr. Lencio Abiera, the vaccination team of APHO will be more aggressive in terms of vaccination because of the slow increase in COVID-19 cases this 2022.

“Nagpalya man kita because sang pag-bot sang bagyo and holidays season and factor man ang fatigue but here we are in 2022 ready again to vaccinate sa aton nga mga nabilin nga population nga wala pa na-cover,” said Abiera.

Because of this Abiera encourages unvaccinated Antiqueños to approach their barangay officials or Barangay Health Emergency Response Team to be listed and informed for the next vaccination schedule.  

As of January 10, Antique reaches 288 active cases. These 288 active cases came from a different town in the province such as San Jose (146), Bugasong (25), Hamtic (25), Sibalom (23), Tibiao (15), San Remigio (11), Laua-an (six), Belison (five), Pandan (five), Patnongon (five), Culasi (four), Tobias Fornier (four), Valderrama (four), Anini-y (three), Barbaza (three), Caluya (three), and Sebaste (one)./PN
