ANTIQUE – A total of 546 persons filed their certificates of candidacy (COCs) for various elective posts in this province and various municipalities last week.
According to the Commission on Elections (Comelec)-Antique, four are running for congressman, three for governor, three for vice governor (three), and 25 for Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) member.
Meanwhile, 38 are running for mayor in18 towns, 40 for vice mayor, and 433 for Sangguniang Bayan (SB) member.

The filing of COC ended on Oct. 8.
Comelec will be reviewing the COCs, said Atty. Wilfred Jay Balisado, director for Region 6.
All filers have until Nov. 8 to correct the defects in their COCs if there are any.
Balisado also said the filers have until Nov. 15 to withdraw or seek a substitute (if the filer belongs to a party).
Substitution is not allowed for independent candidates./PN
