ANTIQUE – As of May 24, 29,030 individuals or 55.76 percent of the 52,058 target population in Sibalom town were deemed fully vaccinated against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

On the other hand, 31,313 individuals were waiting for their second vaccine doses to be considered fully vaccinated, too.

Around 20,000 individuals remain unvaccinated, however.

Meanwhile, 2,281 individuals have so far received COVID-19 vaccine booster shots.

The Municipal Health Office urged most especially the unvaccinated residents to get in touch with their barangay officials or Barangay Health Emergency Response Teams for vaccination.

Sibalom has 76 barangays.

The municipal government hopes that the town will be placed under the less restrictive COVID-19 Alert Level 1 by June 30 from its current Alert Level 2 status.

As of now, only four towns in Antique have been placed under Alert Level 1 for vaccinating at least 70 percent of their populations – Anini-y, Tobias Fornier, San Jose de Buenavista, and Sebaste./PN
