ILOILO City – Five hundred sixty-six police patrolmen and patrolwomen graduated from the Basic Internal Security Operations Course (BISOC).

A closing ceremony was held at the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) in Camp Delgado here on Feb. 8.

BISOC is a mandatory training for police officers. This course equips the new police officers with the necessary knowledge and skills on counter-insurgency operations, both on rural or urban terrain.

It also develops and hones their values and attitude to enable them to be adaptable to any environment. It also makes them capable and responsible to handle any assigned tasks.

Of the 566 graduates, 518 were males and 48 were females.

Their training started last October 2021 at the 2nd Iloilo Provincial Mobile Force Company located at Camp Jalandoni, Barangay Zerrudo, Sara, Iloilo.

Police Brigadier General Flynn Dongbo, PRO-6 director, reminded the neophyte police officers to perform professionally and in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Philippine National Police (PNP) once they are deployed to actual duties in the field.

“You’re training has ended, but this marks the start of another challenging journey as law enforcers,” he said.

Dongbo congratulated them for “satisfactorily surpassing and finishing your rigid course. We train and prepare you for the battle you will be facing in the future.”

The 566 police patrolmen and patrolwomen will be deployed anywhere in the region. They will be performing different tasks such as anti-insurgency, public safety and special law enforcement operations.

“With the high demand of our job, may you apply all the lessons you’ve learned from your trainings and use these in accordance to our mandate,” Dongbo told them./PN
