5th Youth Leaders Congress kicks off today

Student-leaders form all across the region gathered today at the multipurpose hall of Iloilo National High School to kick off the 5th Youth Leadership Congress with the theme: β€œ#LODI: Young People Inspiring the Nation.”

The three-day congress is the brainchild of iLead Trainings in partnership with the Marketing Society Incorporated of the University of the Philippines.

“The 5th Youth Leaders congress is our organization’s flagship project. contrary to last year, we have invited delegates from all over Panay, expecting around 600 participants”, said Bryan Eric Cerebo, the founder of iLead Trainings.

The first day of the event was graced by public servants and dignitaries, among whom were Governor Arthur Defensor Sr., who gave a message addressed to the youth-leaders in attendance, and human rights activist Farah Ghodsinia.

MORE IN STORE

There lies more in store in the remaining two days of the congress including competitions such as extemporaneous speaking, essay writing, and poster making as well as advocacy proposals from the participants and team-building activities.

“I think this year’s highlight will be the team-building activity. It always is. Despite the plenary sessions and inspiring speeches, I think the kids would always more enjoy the practical applications in leadership. The 5th youth leaders congress is really an opportunity for iLead to express its advocacy in nation building. As always, we believe passion to serve starts with the youth”, added Cerebo.
