BACOLOD City – Six recipient organizations received around P2.1 million worth of project grants from the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) in Negros Occidental.
NCCA Accreditation and Grants Processing Section head Christopher Lucindo met the recipients for the orientation and signing of the memorandum of agreement at the Negros Museum in Bacolod City on Tuesday.
“If the fund is not used up, or if the project fund is not utilized, it will be returned to the trust fund,” said NCCA culture and arts officer Jayson Conda.
This year’s grantees include the Negros Cultural Foundation with a fund of P1 million for the “Durugukan sa Negros” project with the Inter-Regional Cluster Visayas under the Sub-commission on Heritage, Committee on Art Galleries.
Individual proponent Leonisa Impil of San Carlos City was granted P250,000 for “Sabor Tumandok: Video Documentation of Indigenous Cuisine ng mga Bukidnon ng Lungsod ng San Carlos, Negros Occidental” under the Sub-commission on Cultural Communities and Traditional Arts, Committee on Central Cultural Communities.
The Iyas National Writers’ Workshop of the University of St. La Salle in Bacolod City was awarded P300,000 under the Sub-commission on the Arts, Committee on Literary Arts.
Fundacion Santiago, Inc. received P200,000 for the “San Carlos City Built Heritage Inventory” under the Sub-commission on Heritage, Committee on Monuments and Sites.
The Local Government Unit of Sipalay City was granted P200,000 for “The Sipalay City Built Heritage and Creative Industries Inventory and Sustainable Development Project” under the Sub-commission on Heritage, Committee on Monuments and Sites.
A grant assistance worth P150,000 was also given to Christian Advocates for Justice and Development in Negros, Inc. for Productions and Performance Category under the Sub-commission on the Arts, Committee on Dramatic Arts. (With a report from PNA/PN)
