ILOILO City – Six persons were arrested for illegal gambling in Barangay Poblacion, New Washington, Aklan, a police report showed.
They were Hesusa Protactio, Mercedita Protactio, Dolly Locsin, Denalyn Protactio, Karen Kemberly Protactio, and Nalgie Protactio, the report added.
They were caught playing the card game tong-its on Saturday.
Recovered from their possession were two decks of playing cards and gambling money worth P1,169.75.
Detained in the New Washington police station, they face charges for violation of Presidential Decree 1602, which prescribes stiffer penalties on illegal gambling./PN
