SAN JOSE, Antique – Police rescued six women in an alleged prostitution den in Barangay Centro Poblacion, Culasi, Antique.
According to Culasi police station Captain Bryan Alamo, an entrapment operation against the owner of a karaoke bar was set after police received a report it was being used as a location for prostitution.
The bar owner – serving as the pimp – was caught after he accepted a P2,000 marked money from an undercover cop in exchange for the services of one of the women around 8 p.m. on March 29, a police report showed.
The rescued women were turned over to the Culasi Municipal Social Worker and Development office.
Alamo said that the bar also violated the enhance community quarantine police of the municipality of Culas under the Executive Order 19, series of 2020, which was issued by Mayor Jeffrey Lomugdang as part of the measures against the coronavirus disease 2019.
He added: “They continued to operate discreetly and received customers coming from different places, who they offered sexual services despite being ordered closed.”
The owner of the bar was detained in the lockup cell of the Culasi municipal police station, facing charges./PN
