BACOLOD City – In a significant development, all 61 barangays in this city are set to receive new service vehicles.

This announcement was made during the mass oath-taking ceremony for newly-elected barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) officials on Nov. 10, officiated by Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez.

Lone District congressman Greg Gasataya, who addressed the attendees, disclosed that both the city officials and his office were currently in the process of procuring these vehicles.

The budget for this endeavor will be sourced from the national office, although Gasataya did not specify which specific office would provide the funding.

He urged barangay officials to submit the necessary requirements for the upcoming bidding process.

Mayor Benitez emphasized the importance of the support of all barangay officials for the city’s progress. He urged them to become active partners and stakeholders in Bacolod’s journey toward becoming a “super city”, achievable through hard work.

Furthermore, Benitez said each barangay would meet all the Commission on Audit’s reportorial requirements.

The oath-taking event was also graced by, among others, Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran, Abang Lingkod Partylist’s Rep. Stephen Paduano, and members of the city council./PN
