ILOILO – An emerging player in the renewable energy sector, Joy-Nostalg Solaris, Inc. (SOLARIS), has signed an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract for its 62.5-megawatt power (MWp) solar project in the Municipality of Ajuy in Iloilo Province.

The signing of the EPC contract between SOLARIS and China Energy Engineering Group Northeast No. 1 Electric Power Construction Co. Ltd. (NEPC) marks the official start of the solar project’s implementation, accelerating the company’s 1000 MWp renewable energy installation target in the next five years.

The construction of the said solar project will commence this January and is expected to be completed by end of this year.

Upon completion, the Ajuy Solar Project is projected to generate 94.32 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of clean and renewable energy each year, enough to supply electricity to over 25,000 Filipino homes year-round, and shall support the Department of Energy’s target to achieve 35% renewable energy share by 2030. The project will also contribute to the economic growth of Iloilo Province and improve the power supply situation in the Panay Island.

In October 2024, SOLARIS energized as load, the Philippines’ first 6.4 MWp utility scale rooftop solar project in Naic, Cavite under its NING*NING brand./PN
