ILOILO – Sixty-two job seekers were hired on the spot during the provincial government’s Public Employment Service Office (PESO)-Iloilo job fair on Friday, July 21, at Robinsons Place Jaro in Iloilo City.
Francisco Heler Jr., PESO-Iloilo head, deemed the job fair successful.
There were a total of 1,223 job seekers – 888 walk-ins, 178 pre-registered, and 119 benefitted from “Libre-Sakay.”
“Nami kay naka-38 kami ka PWDs participants. First time ‘ni,” Heler told Panay News.
The job fair was joined by 78 companies – 71 for local and seven for overseas employment.
They offered more than 8,000 jobs, including 4,242 for local employment and 3,762 for overseas employment.
Aside from these, booths were set up by government agencies such as the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, Department of Migrant Workers, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, Department of Foreign Affairs, Bureau of Internal Revenue, Pag-IBIG Fund, Social Security System, Philippine Statistics Authority, Department of Trade and Industry, National Bureau of Investigation, and Professional Regulation Commission.
With these, Heler thanked participating companies, government agencies, and job seekers.
“Nagapasalamat kita nga ginbuylogan kita sang aton job seekers, partner employers and government agencies rason nga nangin successful ang aton job fair,” added Heler.
He also thanked local government units that offered “Libre Sakay” to job seekers: Passi City and the towns of Barotac Viejo, Tigbauan, Guimbal, Igbaras, Barotac Nuevo, Cabatuan, Dumangas, Zarraga, Sara, New Lucena, and Batad./PN
