ILOILO City – Adversely affected by the enhanced community quarantine being observed to keep the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) 2019 at bay, 625 private establishments in Western Visayas have sought the help of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).

They filed applications for DOLE’s COVID-19 Adjustment Measures Program (CAMP) designed to “mitigate the adverse economic impacts and reduction of income” brought about by the ongoing pandemic.

The 625 establishments had a combined workforce of 14,800 employees, said DOLE Region 6 information officer Niezel Anen Sabrido.

CAMP offers a “one time financial support” of P5,000 to each affected employee in the private sector regardless of employment status.

As of Saturday, DOLE Region 6 was able to release financial support to an initial 1,000 employees.

According to Sabrido, DOLE’s central office downloaded to Western Visayas P62 million for CAMP.

Though the program covers all private establishments that have adopted Flexible Working Arrangements (FWAs) or temporary closure during the COVID-19 pandemic, those in the micro, small and medium enterprises are being prioritized, said Sabrido.

It is the employers themselves who must apply for the CAMP and process the requirements.

The documentary requirements are the following:

* establishment report on COVID-19 form, as required under Labor Advisory No. 9, Series of 2020

* the form may be downloaded from the DOLE Region 6 website (ro6.dole.gov.ph)

* company payroll for the month prior to the implementation of FWAs or temporary closure

* companies must also submit the bank account details of their respective affected employees

DOLE will evaluate the application within three working days then notify the applicant through electronic mail if the application is approved or denied.

Possible grounds for denial of application are the ineligibility of applicant, misrepresentation of facts in the application, and submission of falsified or tampered documents.

If approved, DOLE will release the financial support direct to the beneficiary’s payroll account through bank transfer.

Applications from employers may be emailed to the following DOLE offices in Region 6:

* Iloilo – doleiloilocamp@gmail.com

* Negros – dolenegroscamp@gmail.com

* Aklan – doleaklancamp@gmail.com

* Capiz – dolecapizcamp@gmail.com

* Antique – doleantiquecamp@gmail.com

* Guimaras – doleguimarascamp@gmail.com
