ROXAS City – Over 600 unregistered firearms are now under the custody of the Capiz Police Provincial Office (CPPO).

These guns were surrendered to the CPPO under the “Tokhang Kontra Ginadumilian Nga Pusil” program of the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6).

The anti-loose guns program began on July 20.

The firearms were presented to the newly installed CPPO director Senior Superintendent Canilo Fuentes at Camp Teoderico Apil in Barangay Lanot.

Canilo replaced Senior Superintendent Samuel Nacion as the CPPO head on Tuesday.

Nacion was assigned at the Philippine National Police headquarters in Camp Crame.

PRO-6 director Chief Superintendent John Bulalacao was the guard of honor during the Nacion’s turnover ceremony.

The surrendered loose guns that totaled to 631 were from different municipalities in Capiz – 399 of them from gun owners who turned them over for safekeeping while their license renewal applications are pending./PN
