64 tribes join in Ati-Atihan opening salvo

KALIBO, Aklan – A total of 64 tribes joined the Tamboe Sadsad opening salvo in this capital town on Friday.

A sneak peak of the Ati-Atihan Festival 2019, Tamboe Sadsad gathered around 2,800 people, the organizers have estimated.

The street dancing parade started at 1:30 p.m. on Arch. Reyes Street and XIX Martyrs Street going to downtown Kalibo.

During the event, the Kalibo Santo Niño Ati-Atihan Foundation, Inc. (Kasafi) signed a memorandum of agreement with the Philippine Airlines and GMA TV Regional Network.

Kasafi partnered with them for the Ati-Atihan Festival in January.

The tribes that participated in the Tamboe Sadsad include Tribu Datu Puti, D’Cousins, Pirates, Toronian Hotshot, Remember D’ Family, Merisi, Delex 300, Atras Abante, Young Keys, Los Companeros, Royal Scorpio, Tribu Alibangbang, Tribu Anono-o, D’Emagine, Aeang-Aeang, Tribu Bukid Tigayon, Bantod Smile, Adamas Ace, Longstone Trail, Mego, Remedyo, Vindeta, Iwa Iwa, Skylarks, Kamicousinz, Lagalag 27, Vikings, Kinantuing, Bae-ot Bae-ot, and Ants Paea.

Groups 509, Eleven ’05, SNV, Etcetera, Piktaw Piktaw, Gangat, Ampod, Brotherhood, Apo ni Inday, Akatsi, Team Balong, The Andagao City, Road Side, Janlef A-town, Footslugger, D’Gonz, Tribu Responde, Aklanon Troopers, D’Iraders, Tribu Niniolitos, Black Beauty Boys, D’Familia, Cnemorun, 3J’s Marino, Hilltop Ibajay, Mamugon, CTL Remcum, Atras Abante Internationale, The Godfather, Anino, Lezo Tribe, Blue Birds, Malipayong Ati, and Village People also participated.
