ANTIQUE – Over 678 barangay service point officers (BSPOs) each received P12,000 in cash incentives from the Antique provincial government at the Binirayan Gymnasium on Friday, Dec. 23.
The Provincial Population Office (PPO) headed by Primo Ogatis Jr. led the disbursement of a total of P8,136,000.
Gov. Rhodora Cadiao emphasized the role of BSPOs in their respective barangays, especially as frontliners of the provincial government, in giving the right information about responsible parenthood and helping curb teenage and unwanted pregnancies.
“Alam ninyo isa kayo sa mga dahilan, andut naga-ugwad ang atun probinsya. Bahol ang inyo papel as population workers sa pagsolbar kang adolescent pregnancy, kag mga nanari-sari nga problema sa populasyon. Kag, kauna gamay lang inyo nga nabaton kadya na-enjoy ninyo ang P12,000 nga cash incentives nga gintugro kang gobyerno probinsyal,” the governor said.
Yolanda Juada Antona, BSPO Federation president of Barangay San Pedro, San Jose town, thanked to the provincial government, saying that in her 15 years of service, it’s only now that they’ve received huge incentives.
“Bahol gid d’ya nga bulig kanamon nga mga BSPO. Kauna P500, P1,000, kag P2,000 lang. Umpisa nagligad tuig pasalamat gid kami kay natugruan man kami kang pansin kang atun gobyerno nga ginpataasan amun incentives sa P12,000,” said Antona.
Meanwhile, assistant regional director – designate of the Commission on Population and Development (Popcom) Region 6, Dr. Jonathan B. Dioteles, commended the support of the Antique provincial government to the agency’s population programs.
Lolito R. Tacardon, officer-in-charge executive director of Popcom-6, also sent his virtual message to the Antiqueño BSPOs.
