ILOILO City – Sixty-eight policemen from the headquarters of the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) were relieved from their posts on Saturday, June 10.
These personnel who were doing menial and duplicated administrative duties will be assigned to the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) for augmentation force and for more police visibility, according to Police Brigadier General Sidney Villaflor, PRO-6 acting director.
“I pulled out 68 personnel to further reinforce my instructions to put more uniformed personnel in the field. Dami nating pulis na pwede natin magamit sa field,” Villaflor said.
Villaflor added that the relief is part of the implementation of the 85/15 percent deployment scheme.
Under the scheme, 15 percent of police personnel will be on duty at the headquarters to do administrative functions and 85 percent will be on the field for more focused police operations, crime prevention to ensure maximum police presence on the streets in view of reducing street crimes and improving the crime solution efficiency.
“I personally directed the ICPO director to deploy them to perform mobile checkpoints, foot, mobile and motorcycle patrols, essentially police visibility duties. During my subsequent visits to different provincial offices, I will also keenly look into their units’ personnel statistics and profile so that we could utilize them to the field,” Villaflor said./PN
