ANTIQUE – Joint forces of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) of Antique net seven drug suspects in two separate buy-bust operations on Thursday, Oct. 12. Some P173,000 worth of suspected shabu were also recovered.
At about 5:30 p.m. in Barangay Bungsod, Sibalom town, suspects Erlina O. Delo Santos, 56, restaurant owner; Jerry O. Delo Santos, 21; Julie T. Diocales, 32, cook; Gelli S. Camonse, 26, waitress; Joy V. Tupaz, 36, waitress; and Joan C. Togle, 23, waitress, were collared.
The PDEA-Antique, PDEU-Antique and Sibalom Municipal Police Station seized more or less 10 grams of the illegal substance valued at P68,000.
Several drug paraphernalia and the buy-bust money amounting to P4,000 were also recovered.
Over four hours later, around 9:40 p.m., the PDEA-Antique, PDEU-Antique and San Jose de Buenavista Municipal Police Station held a buy-bust operation in Purok 2, Barangay 4 in San Jose de Buenavista.
The target was identified as Andrew “Nonoy Bulag or Andoy” Ibañez, 38, of Barangay Calumpang, Molo, Iloilo City, who temporarily resides in San Jose de Buenavista.
The joint effort resulted in the confiscation of more or less 10 grams of the illegal substance valued at P105,000.
Buy-bust money amounting to P3,000 and a sum of P46,900, believed to be proceeds of illegal drug trade, were recovered.
The arrested suspects are currently in the custody of the concerned municipal police stations, pending proper legal proceedings for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2022)./PN
