BACOLOD City – Law enforcers arrested 70 individuals for illegal cockfighting.
Members of the E.B. Magalona, Negros Occidental police station, together with the 605th Regional Mobile Force Battalion, conducted an operation at around 11:50 a.m. on Saturday, April 29, in Barangay San Isidro, E.B. Magalona, Negros Occidental.
The suspects, all of legal age, were residents of Barangay Consing in the said locality.
They face charges of violating Presidential Decree 449 that outlaws illegal cock derbies.
Recovered from the suspects were 18 fighting cocks and P2,948 in bet money.
All were being held at the local police station./PN
