ILOILO City – Certificates were awarded to 75 Indigenous Peoples (IPs) who underwent training at Farmer Field School (FFS) on the Production of High-Quality Inbred Rice, Seed Certification, and Farm Mechanization under the Rice Extension Services Program-Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RESP-RCEF) during a culminating activity in Barangay Dit-ana, Madalag, Aklan.

The training was headed by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) 6.

RESP-RCEF equips participants with skills in rice crop production, modern rice farming techniques, seed production, farm mechanization, and knowledge or technology transfer through farm schools nationwide.

Three batches of IPs received their skills training from Villa Maxselma Sustainable Organic Garden, an accredited institution of the agency that offers Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) courses.

The IPs also received Training Support Fund (TSF) during the culminating activity.

TSF is an allowance released among scholars as a support fund, living allowance, book allowance, instructional materials allowance, cost of workshop uniform, and other training-related expenditures. (PIA)/PN
